While it is close to the citys attractions, it is also directly on a bike and running path that can be a positive or negative experience depending on your preferences. It is right on the river with concrete pads that are mostly level. If you have your own bathroom and shower in your RV, you might want to use it because the shared facilities need renovating. The entrance may not look great, but once inside, you will find the park better. Getting into the park is challenging, and you will need to follow the emailed directions, which include driving past the park and turning around in the Carrier Park parking lot. It may be tighter for very large RVs. If you are a light sleeper, be aware that it is situated near a major intersection of three interstate highways, and there is a lot of traffic noise at night, so you might need to use a fan or another sound-masking device. Some guests left after one night, but the management was nice enough to provide a refund.

The campground offers affordable sites with full hookups, concrete parking pads, and designated bath facilities for both men and women. More than half of the sites are located directly on the river. The campground is open year-round and is just 5 miles away from downtown Asheville, making it a great place to stay for easy access to all the city has to offer.
