What others are saying
This campground is a great location for visitors to the Outer Banks. It offers 30-50 amp free cable, laundry, concrete pads, level area, picnic table, full hookups, and nice spacing between sites with some grass over the sand. It is conveniently located near Route 12 and is close to the beach and Pamlico Sound. The sites are dirt but level with plenty of room for slide outs and awnings. They do not accept credit cards, only cash, and charge an additional $1.00 for each additional pet. There is a good grocery store and a hairdresser located nearby. The Wi-Fi is inconsistent due to the poor service, and an emergency alert siren went off one night for about a minute. There is no pool or activities, and no water access at the campground. The showers are small but the mens are regular fiberglass stalls. The owners are helpful and friendly.

Sands of Time Campground is located in the quaint fishing village Avon, better known as Kinnakeet by the locals, in Cape Hatteras, Outer Banks. The campground offers large sites, full hookups, clean, hot showers, laundry facilities, a fish cleaning station, and shady tent sites. They also offer a darling two-bedroom/one-bath cottage rental, set off amid beautiful trees. Sands of Time Campground is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, Avon fishing pier, entertainment, and pristine beaches. Just two and a half miles down the road is 'Canadian Hole', famous nationwide among wind surfers and kite surfers. The rates are among the best on the Cape, and the friendly and courteous staff will always go the extra mile to make your vacation at Sands of Time Campground memorable.
