What others are saying about this campground
Lake Powatan National Forest RV Park is the perfect spot for a peaceful and quiet camping experience. Located in the mountains of the Pisgah National Forest, this six site RV park offers full hookups and gravel sites that are level and close to Mt. The park is intended for long term campers and is located on a lightly traveled scenic road that connects the town of Candler with the Blue Ridge Parkway. The owner is very kind and accommodating and will go out of his way to make you feel welcomed. The sites are ample for big rigs and there is a nearby creek that provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The interior gravel road is quite out of level, so take it very slow when entering the park, and Hwy 151 beyond this campground is not suitable for big rigs - too steep and very tight turns. There are no additional amenities offered, but there are several county parks in the Candler area with playgrounds and nature trails. Suburban propane can come out to this location to install a tank if staying long enough to need it, with auto refill services available. This is a great spot for a day or a year and is highly recommended!
