Indian Creek Campground in Cherokee, NC is a small but peaceful family-friendly campground located just outside of town. The creek-side sites provide a serene atmosphere with the sound of the running water. The staff are welcoming and always willing to help. The laundry facilities are decent and there is a small playground for the kids. Though the Smoky Mountains are not dog-friendly, there is a dog-friendly trail nearby where you can see elk. The campground is on the Indian reservation so there is a tribal fee in addition to the camping fee. Cell service is spotty but the campground provides wifi, which is still a work in progress. This is a quiet campground, so if you are looking to party with barking dogs, this may not be the place for you. If you are looking for a well-maintained campground to enjoy nature and a peaceful atmosphere, then Indian Creek Campground is definitely worth a visit.
