Though the sites themselves are not particularly scenic, the woodsy backdrop helps block out road noise. The staff is accommodating and helpful, offering assistance with leveling blocks when it was needed. However, some guests experienced issues when their reserved sites were changed without communication or were too small for their rigs, which led to tight and difficult parking conditions. Some found the customer service in the office to be lacking and overly focused on rules and regulations. Overall, The Great Outdoors RV Resort is a clean and comfortable campground that features good amenities and convenient location for exploration.

Whether you're planning a Blue Ridge Parkway road trip or seeking an adventurous retreat, our park has you covered. Our easily accessible and big rig friendly RV sites are set in a wooded ambiance, perfect for soaking in spectacular sunsets, or you might choose to retreat to a beautiful mountain cabin, which come furnished with linens, kitchenware, a TV, a small fridge, microwave, and private balcony. For gem enthusiasts, the area is rich in gem mining opportunities. And we're just a stone's throw away from the Nantahala National Forest, offering a variety of meandering hiking and biking trails. For long-distance hikers, the famed Appalachian Trail is also nearby. The resort’s event center boasts two full kitchens, restroom facilities, a wide-screen TV, WII entertainment system, and a brand-new deck with a porch overlooking the pool - the ideal spot to unwind and savor the sunset. Stay connected with our upgraded WIFI that supports streaming and video conferencing. Our furry guests are not forgotten; they will love the “Bark Park,” an enclosed off-leash area.
