What others are saying about this campground
Medoc Mountain State Park campground is a great place to enjoy nature and all it has to offer. The campground offers a variety of activities, including hiking, biking, fishing, and picnicking. There are no swimming pools or playgrounds, but the park has a large grass area for group picnics and other activities. The campground offers sites with fire rings, lantern poles, and tables, as well as a well-stocked firewood shed with an honor system pay method. The tent sites are large and the gravel is deep, but the pads are not level. There are clean restrooms with hot showers and potable water locations throughout the campground. The park also has a sump station as you leave. The afternoon sun in the summer months may be a bit hot on some sites, but there are plenty of shaded spots. The park also offers great mountain biking trails that you can ride to from the campground, which are well-maintained and flowy. The campground is small and quiet, and is a great deal on weekdays with only $21/night including tax and day fee. However, due to a busy road near the south end of the park, there may be some car noise when sitting outside at night.

From The Campground

Medoc Mountain State Park is located in Halifax County, NC and stands on the 325-foot remnant of a once-mighty mountain range from 350 million years ago. Visitors can enjoy picnicking in the park's open meadow, fishing on Little Fishing Creek, and traversing the trails on foot, bike, or horse. Uncommon species such as Lewis' heartleaf and the Neuse River waterdog call the park home. The park offers camping, hiking, biking, horseback riding, paddling, fishing, and picnicking.
