OBX Campground is a family-owned RV park located in Kill Devil Hills, just behind the Wright Brothers National Monument. It is tucked away on the sound side of the island but only five minutes from the beach. The interior roads are wide, gravel in good condition with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. The sites are generously sized, with a gravel parking pad, and the utility pedestal is well-placed and in good repair. The roads and sites are crushed stone, level and fairly spacious given that the park is located in the heart of the northern Outer Banks vacation/attraction area. Theres a couple of miles of city street to get to the park thats a bit narrow and curvy, but its not a big deal if you take your time. The park is in a nice location - right on the water and off the busy main drag but convenient to stores / restaurants. It was quiet and well maintained by the friendly owners who were very gracious and even promptly returned our call after hours for check-in instructions. Good location in the middle of the Outer Banks making visiting the north and south ends of the island doable. A small inlet next to the campground dock leads to a nondescript crab company where you can buy fresh seafood. There is no store on-site, but the office is attended for a couple hours a day and the lady is very kind and will deliver packages directly to your door. There is also a private graveyard with headstones dating back to the early 1800s, and you can enjoy the view of the sound. The cable is antiquated and requires a converter box, but the Wi-Fi is the best out of all so far and is 5mb/s steady. The only downside is that the CG is in a hard No Fly Zone for drones.
