However, the bathrooms and showers are not well-maintained, the pier was washed away in a storm and not restored, and there is only a small playground for kids.

Sandy Point Resort Campground is a family-owned campground and mobile home park located on the Currituck Sound, at the border of Virginia and North Carolina. The campground offers a peaceful country setting with waterfront accommodations, including a fully equipped log cabin, mobile home sites, and a variety of attractive campsites. The campground offers full hook-up sites for campers, tent sites, and a bathhouse with private hot showers open 24/7. There is plenty of water for boating, fishing, and water sports. The campground also offers a basketball and volleyball court, children's playground, and areas for water skiing and windsurfing. Nearby attractions include Mackay Wildlife Refuge, 18-hole golf courses, Ocean Breeze Water Park and Motor World, Virginia Aquarium and Museum, Virginia Beach Fishing Center, Rudee Inlet, Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Norfolk Naval Base, Colonial Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens.
