This campground is a great place to stay for a peaceful and enjoyable experience. Located between the Cape Fear River and Kure Beach, it is within walking distance of both, and offers amazing views of the river from the overflow area. The campground is well maintained, clean, and quiet, and all spaces are concrete pads with full hookups. There is a 4WD area, aquarium, museum, and beaches for those looking to explore the area. The ferry is also nearby, allowing for easy access to the city of Wilmington. The staff is friendly and helpful, although the laundry area was not clean. The campground is a Military FAM camp with standard rates per night, making it a great value. There is also a bar/grille, Military History museum, rec hall and pool (open in summer), and fitness center. The only downside is the spotty wifi due to the trees blocking the signal.
