Down By the River Campground is a nice and well-maintained place to camp in Newland, NC. The property is clean and the sites are nicely spaced. Most of the sites are occupied by seasonal renters with old park models and trailers. The campground doesnt have cable TV, but the WiFi service is available, though it is limited and doesnt support streaming or extenders. The bathhouse is immaculate, and laundry facilities are also available. The concrete pads for trailers are level, and there are picnic tables on-site, although some of them may be too small for use. The sites are beautifully landscaped, and the location by the river is fantastic for nature lovers seeking peace and quiet. One potential drawback is the distance from the dumpsters.

Down by the River Campground is the high country’s ONLY mature camping community. It is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and offers a quiet, relaxing retreat for its guests. The campground features large trees and beautiful landscaping, and all sites are flat, paved, impeccably maintained, and spacious while most are pull-through.
