The Cape Hatteras KOA is one of the nicest parks around, boasting a friendly and helpful staff, a large pool with a double waterslide, a hot tub, a pirate playground, two enormous jumping pillows, and plenty of sports activities. The boardwalk leads to a bathhouse right off the beach, an outdoor shower area, and a fish cleaning station. The camp store offers basic groceries, cold drinks, and souvenirs. The winter months offer a quiet campground with beachy dreams and soul-filling peace. The spacious dog park, large clean campsites, fishing off the beach, and the field and pier across the street make this the perfect camping experience. The park offers wonderful activities, including a Halloween weekend, and the location to the beach makes it even better. Amenities include a pool, hot tub, and campstore, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The cabins offer a unique experience, but lack cable TV and communication from the workers. Other amenities include a picnic table with pavilion, electric and water, a fire pit, and a Tiki bar. The campground is well maintained and clean, and the staff sends out text messages about events, sunsets, and store closing times. The only downside is that some of the amenities are out of order, and the beach access is not pristine.
