Moonshine Creek Campground is a beautiful location that is worth staying at. The creek that runs through it is stunning, as is the natural landscaping around the property. Although the road leading to the campground is narrow and the sites are somewhat tight, the environment is very worth it. There are short-term sites, camping cabins, and tent sites to choose from. You will find a clean bathhouse, with newer washing and drying machines, and a covered porch to hang out on. There is no pool or playground, but there are plenty of areas to get into the creek. The park also has surprisingly excellent cell reception, and there is Wi-Fi available at the camp office. It is situated between Sylva and Waynesville, with close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway, making it an excellent base for a mountain getaway. The staff at the campground is incredibly nice and helpful, and there is a good balance of seasonals and weekend campers. You will not find any full-timers, however, as the park is closed during winter.
