The park features beautiful mature ash trees for a nice shady camp spot, large, level and secluded sites, and lovely wide trails for biking and hiking. The Turtle River runs through the park, making it a great spot for fishing and other river activities. The park staff are friendly and helpful, and they keep the park well maintained. Unfortunately, the campsites can get quite crowded during special events, and the roads and campsites are quite close together. There is no swimming pool or lake, but there are plenty of trails for hiking, biking, and other activities. From The Campground

Turtle River State Park offers a variety of camping options, including 26 primitive campsites, 3 modern group campsites, and campsites with electricity and water. The park also features day-use facilities such as the Woodland Lodge, Chalet Meeting Room, and picnic shelters. Additional amenities include a playground, sewage dump station, showers and flush toilets, visitor center, and warming house. The park has a system of mountain biking, hiking, and interpretive trails, as well as more than 7.5 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails in the winter. Turtle River State Park also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including Halloween in July, Wacky for Water Games, and Fall Luminary Walk.
