What others are saying
Icelandic State Park is a small, quiet nature preserve in northeast North Dakota with a variety of attractions and activities. The park is home to rare plants and birds in a cool bur oak-basswood stand with spring fed fens, and a native prairie restoration. There are three well set up loops with hookups and all the amenities for campers and RVs, as well as a variety of primitive camping sites. The park also offers a variety of historical sites, including a museum and five historic buildings, including the Hallson Icelandic Lutheran church. There is a large beach with soft sand, shady picnic areas, and a concession stand. Visitors can rent kayaks and paddle boards, and access great hiking trails. There are also plenty of trees for shade and hammocks, and the bath houses with showers are well kept. The park is also home to a dog park, and ranger activities on the weekends.
