Cross Ranch State Park is a great campground situated on the banks of the Missouri River. It offers a variety of camping options, including teepees, cabins, and tent sites. All sites have electric and two dump stations, and there is an overflow area with no hookups available for late arrivals. There are also vault toilets and showers located in the visitor center building. The park also offers many hiking paths, a playground, and ranger presentations. The views of the Missouri River are beautiful and there are plenty of trees and foliage between the sites, providing good privacy. The campground fee is $12, plus a $5 vehicle fee, unless you have the North Dakota Annual Pass. There are also great interpretive programs offered on weekends. Be sure to take the brown state park signs instead of the GPS, as the GPS may take you down gravel roads. Be prepared for flies and ticks, and bring clothing/sleeping bags appropriate for the nighttime temperatures, as the Tipi does not retain warmth.
From The Campground
Cross Ranch State Park offers a true primitive outdoor experience with over 16 miles of trails winding through the park and nature preserve. Day-use facilities include picnic shelters and a meeting room. Pets are welcome on a leash.
