CCC Campground in Watford City, ND is a spacious and quiet campsite with beautiful 360-degree views. The campsites are well spaced and the campground host said its never full. Vault toilets and a hand pump for water are available, although filling up your freshwater tank might be challenging. There is no sanitary dump on the campsite. Wildlife sightings of deer and prairie dogs are common. Its a great place to start or end your hike of the 144-mile Maah Daah Hey trail. Keep in mind that the river marks the line between Central and Mountain time zones and the weather in the area can be extreme with intense thunderstorms. Overall, its a well-kept and tranquil campsite ideal for those looking for solitude and beautiful natural scenery.

From The Campground
CCC Campground is a newly remodeled campground located approximately 15 miles south of Watford City, ND on Highway 85 and one mile west of Forest Road 842. It is a favorite among Maah Daah Hey Trail users. The campground offers 38 sites each with a fire ring with a grill, 31 accessible sites, and parking pads up to 60-feet long. There is a trailhead for the Long X Trail and the Maah Daah Hey Trail located just west of the campground. The campground also offers horse camping and riding, with 1 mounting ramp and 4 hitch rails. There is a large group picnic shelter and a picnic table at each site. The campground has an accessible, unisex vault toilet and drinking water with a hand pump.
