What others are saying about this campground
The North Dakota State Historic Site Campground is the perfect place to experience the history and natural beauty of the area. With no services and no fees, the campground offers a secluded and tranquil setting with tall shade trees and picnic tables, fire rings and trash cans. Visitors can check in at the Confluence Visitor Center and explore nearby forts Buford and Union, as well as the historic military cemetery. There are no designated campsites, but there are three possible sites to choose from. Vault toilets are located in the visitor center parking lot, and there are no water or porta-potties available. The campground is free and perfect for an overnight stay, but park staff usually only permit stays of up to three or four nights. Mosquitoes can be a problem in the late afternoon and evening, and the nearest gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants are 10 to 20 miles away.

From The Campground
Bowbells Country Club is an 9-hole, sand green golf course on 80 acres. Crossing Stony Creek four times during a round makes a challenging course, while the long par-5 ninth hole can test the best of the long drives.
