GenieSummary

Nimisila Campground is a lovely park located on a lake, with asphalt pads and tall trees providing shade. It is a more primitive campground than electric sites, but is great for those who want a simple, quiet camping experience. There are no rules, however, and the locals use it as a party place, so it can be quite loud and chaotic at times. There are port-a-potties which can be filled with bugs and smell horrible, and cars drive through the campground at high speeds. There is a small playground for kids, but it is not suitable for toddlers due to the cars driving by. There is a dump station for trailer and gray water dump areas located throughout the park for tent campers, but no place to fill up with fresh water. Bug spray is essential.

From The Campground

Nimisila Reservoir Metro Park Campground offers 29 individual campsites near the eastern banks of the 800-acre reservoir. Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic table, and six sites have electricity. Three sites are ADA accessible. The campground offers a dump station, free of charge for registered campers. Those wishing to use the station who are not registered campers may do so for a fee of $10. The maximum stay is 10 consecutive nights in a 30-day period. Permits will only be issued to individuals 18 and older. The campsites accommodate a tent or tents with combined floor space under 200 square feet, or a camper, RV or truck camper and a tent. There are no showers or drinking water at the campground.
