Sites 2-7 are wide enough to park your car next to your RV. Sites 1 & 8 are very narrow and are suitable for a van or small RV. Electrics are available with exact change required at a machine located across from the campsites. The campground has a free-to-use dump station. While it is next to a roadway where trucks drive to get to their parking area, the facilities are well maintained. There is some traffic noise including air brakes when the trucks slow down, but it is still possible to have a comfortable stay. The campgrounds are adjacent to several convenient restaurants such as Panera Bread, Burger King, Starbucks, and Auntie Annies Pretzel. The truckers lounge is available with free and clean showers. The park provides a great overnight rest stop with a feeling of safety and security. Overall, it is an excellent place to get a good nights sleep before hitting the road again.

The Ohio Turnpike RV Lots and Community Rooms are located at Milepost 139.5 in Amherst, Ohio. The RV lots can accommodate up to 10 back-in RV parking spaces for vehicles up to 40 feet in length. The community rooms are available for reservation any day of the week from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and can accommodate up to 30 people classroom style and 40 people theater style. There is no rental fee to use a community room, but a $50 refundable security deposit is required prior to reserving the room. The Vermilion Valley Service Plaza, located nearby, is named after the Vermilion River, which was named by French explorers when they discovered the red earth along its banks. The area is known for its fishing and resort centers, and the Vermilion beaches lie at the eastern gateway to one of Ohio’s most popular shore resort sections. The Wakefield Marine Museum in Vermilion is a popular attraction for those interested in ships and nautical history.
