GenieSummary
Alum Creek campground is well-designed and maintained with good site separation, roads, and lots of trees. It has been a favorite campsite for over 30 years, and its still a beautiful park even though its in a rapidly expanding area. However, the popularity of the campground can lead to crowds and nearby traffic noise. Despite that, it is one of the preferred campgrounds for many. The sites are spacious and surrounded by abundant foliage, providing ample privacy. The park is well-maintained, with friendly, frequent presence of the camp hosts and rangers. The B-Loop has some FHU sites, including sewer. Most of the other sites provide electric-only hookups. The dump station has potable water available. Maneuvering around the campground is easy, even for coaches up to 40 feet long. The lake on the premises is great for fishing and boating. While there are trails accessible from the campground, they are not extensive enough to be considered hiking trails but primarily serve as connectors to the loops and the lake. A 5-minute car ride will take you to trailheads for more extensive hiking and mountain-biking trails. AT&Ts cell and wifi services provide reasonable streaming capabilities, although they may be slow at times when conducting video calls. The campground is close to restaurants, a supermarket, golf courses, and an outlet mall, all within a 10-15 minute drive.
