What others are saying
Delaware State Park is a sprawling 2,000 acre park located just north of the Ohio town of Delaware. The park offers a variety of amenities including paved roads and campsites, grassy patios with picnic tables and fire pits, a no wake zone on the northern portion of the lake, a free archery range, and plenty of trails to hike. The park is also close to downtown Delaware with shopping, restaurants, a historic theater and brewery. During the summer months, the park can fill up quickly, but during the week there are plenty of sites open. The campgrounds feature brand new roads and pads that are level, long and wide. There is also a swimming beach, a marina with a full service store, two disc golf courses, and a dog park. The campgrounds are electric only and have a dump station and potable water at the entrance. The camp hosts are friendly and make frequent rounds. The park also has a playground, tornado shelter, and fire pits with adjustable cooking grates. The bathrooms are older and in need of updating, but the park is generally well kept and clean. Be aware that the park can get quite noisy with loud cussing and drinking on the weekends. There are also lots of bugs and spiders in the shower house.
