Fredericktown Parks Department Campground is a small, shaded, and well maintained campground located on the waterfront of a paddle or electric motor only reservoir. It is surrounded by public land, making it a peaceful and quiet place to stay. The campground is home to many waterfowl and Canadian Geese, and is a popular destination for those who stay for long stretches every summer. Unfortunately, the bathrooms and showers have not been sanitized in a long time and are in need of cleaning. The park is not mowed regularly, and there have been reports of sketchy people staying in the campground. There is no running water or 50 amp electric, but the view from the campsites right on the water is amazing. The 10hp restriction on boats makes it a great spot for kayaking, and the kids will love the playground area. The camp staff are friendly and helpful, and the campground hosts a camp wide yard sale each year.

From The Campground

Kokosing Campground is operated by Fredericktown Recreation District and is located about 15 minutes north of Mount Vernon and just west of Fredericktown, Ohio. The campground offers 46 sites for partial and primitive hookup RV and tent camping, a large picnic area, playground, and a two-lane boat ramp. Most of the sites have electricity available. A shower house with flush toilets, ice, bait, snacks, and firewood are available at the campground headquarters. Wildlife is abundant, and the 185-acre lake offers some great fishing. Hunters are also permitted during season.
