The campground is perfect for nature lovers looking to get away from it all, as there is no light pollution at night and the scenery is beautiful.

AEP Recreation offers several recreational areas for camping, fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and hunting. Visitors can enjoy The Wilds, Conesville, Poston Plant Lands, Southern Ohio Recreation Area, Fairbanks Landing, and Smith Mountain Lake. AEP has a long history of working with governments, conservation organizations, and other utilities to reclaim land, restore wildlife habitats, and offset greenhouse gas emissions in areas impacted through mining. These reclaimed areas are now available for recreation and enjoyment.
