Mount Gilead State Park Campground is a hidden gem in the Ohio State Parks system. It offers a variety of activities such as fishing, disc golf, hiking trails, playgrounds, and more. The sites are close together, but there are enough trees between them for a sense of privacy. The pads are at a 90 degree angle to the road, so it can be a little more of a challenge to back in a big camper. The campground has full hook-up sites with brand-new cement pads, a new bath and shower house, and a new dump station. There is a friendly camp host who circles the property in a golf cart to make sure everyone is taken care of. The tall trees provide plenty of shade and are great for hammock hanging or setting up a dog run. The park also offers volleyball, cornhole, shelterhouses, and a bird blind. It is a great place to unplug and enjoy the peacefulness of nature.
