Iron Ridge Campground is a newly renovated family campground located on a ridge on the east side of Lake Vesuvius. The campground has a total of 32 campsites (21 RV sites and 11 tent sites) with water available at all sites and electricity at nearly half of the sites. The campground can accommodate large RVs. The Whiskey Run Trail is 0.85 miles long and connects the Lake Shore Trail and Iron Ridge Campground. This loop trail starts at the campground across from site 29, goes down to the lake, along a short segment of the Lake Shore Trail, and back up the second side the Whiskey Run Trail. The loop has 150-foot elevation change going down and back up. The trail passes abandoned charcoal pits, remnants of a whiskey still, and parts of old whiskey barrels. It is marked with white diamond markers with red dots.
