While some of the sites may not be level and the roads are a bit narrow, the cleanliness of the bathrooms and shower house is remarkable, and the staff members are friendly and welcoming. The parks coastal campsites offer fantastic views of the cliffside, and the nearby fire rings are located right at the edge of the cliff. The sunsets over the water during the evening are exhilarating. The campground also has convenient facilities like water stations and flush toilets, and a gate with a keypad that ensures the privacy and security of campers. While the ferry ride over to the island may be a bit adventurous on windy days, South Bass Island State Park is well worth the trip. Overall, it is an excellent location for camping on the island, and its an ideal place to relax and unwind.
