Lake Murray State Park in Ardmore, OK is a serene location perfect for a relaxing camping experience. The parks setting provides beautiful views of the lake, especially during sunset. There are several hiking trails and wooded areas close to the boat landing to enjoy a quiet walk. The campgrounds washrooms are clean, however, some campers note they need an upgrade. While several campsites have electric and water hookup, there are no sewer hookups but many of the sites offer full hookups for an additional fee. Some campsites can be hard to find since the signs are poor, but campers should bring a map to assist with navigation. Internet access is spotty due to weak connectivity from several wireless providers. Nonetheless, Lake Murray State Park is a breathtaking location and has turned some campers opinions about Oklahoma states camping system.

Lake Murray State Park is Oklahoma's first and largest state park consisting of 12,500 acres of forested, rolling hills around beautiful Lake Murray. The park's diverse terrain, exceptional trails and historic sites make Lake Murray State Park a favorite destination among outdoor, water sport and ATV riding enthusiasts. Staying at the park is easy with your choice between RV and tent campgrounds, 56 cabins dotted throughout beautiful Lake Murray State Park and a modern lodge. For a more secluded experience, book one of the park's 56 cabins, many of which are historic structures built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. These state park cabins feature everything from cozy cottages for two up to large family-size cabins. For a small fee, pets are allowed in select cabins. Lake Murray Lodge features 32 rooms and all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Choose from rooms with one king-size with sofa sleeper or two queen-size beds all with stunning views of the lake. Lodge guests can also have hours of fun at the outdoor pool and splash pad area. When it’s time to get outside, fishing, boating and a variety of water sports are enjoyed on the 5,728 surface acres of Lake Murray. Outdoor activities include golf, picnicking, camping, trail riding, hayrides, hiking, swimming, miniature golf and paddle boating. With nearly 1,000 acres of trails for ATVs, motorcycles and dirt bikes, thrill-seekers have plenty of terrain to adventure.
