What others are saying about this campground
Burns Run West is a beautiful campground located on the banks of Lake Texoma near Cartwright, OK. It features full hookups and 50 amp electric on very long concrete pads, and sites are spaced very far from one another. There are plenty of shaded pull-through sites in Loops C and D, perfect for hot summer months, as well as E (50 amp) and W sites with great lake views for $24 per night. Site A9 has only water hookups, so bring a long hose. The check-in time is 6 p.m. and if you miss this curfew, youll be locked out and have to park your vehicle outside the gate overnight. The campground also features a nice sand swim area, good bathroom/bathhouse facilities, playground and boat ramp. However, the roads are a bit narrow and winding in section D & E, so be careful turning, and more speed bumps are needed on the main road to slow down people who are driving too fast through the camping areas.

From The Campground

Lake Texoma is the largest lake in capacity in the Tulsa District and the twelfth largest in the United States. It is also one of the most popular Federal recreation facilities in the country, with almost 6 million visitors annually. Texoma is known as the “Striper Capital of the World.” This lake is one of the few reservoirs in the nation where striped bass reproduce naturally. Other popular species include largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, white crappie, black crappie, channel catfish and blue catfish. Lake Texoma is also thought to be the “Playground of the Southwest.” The lake offers a multitude of amenities for most anyone who enjoys the great outdoors. The Corps of Engineers alone offers 15 different campgrounds with the total number of individual campsites reaching well over 800. Also available are 40 miles of equestrian trails that are enjoyed by hundreds each year and the scenic Cross Timbers hiking trail, a very popular trail that winds for 14 miles above the lake on rocky ledges and through blackjack woodland.
