GenieSummary

The Checotah Army Corps of Engineers campground is a great place to stay for a peaceful and scenic vacation. Located 30 minutes from the city of Checotah, the campground is situated on a man-made lake and offers less than 30 sites with 30 amp service and shared water spigots. The sites are level and offer a view of the lake, with plenty of space to park your car behind them. The dump station is free and easy to access. The brick shower/bath house is away from the lake and the city of Checotah has a Super Walmart, Flying J with RV pull through lanes, and a clean laundry mat. Unfortunately, the campground has been marred by reports of gate attendants harassing campers and having a personal issue with them over the price of firewood. The campground is an older Army Corp Park, but is kept clean.
