From The Campground
Waurika Lake Recreation offers excellent opportunities for fishing, hunting, camping, boating, sightseeing, swimming, and hiking. The lake provides a habitat for various species of fish, including channel catfish, flathead catfish, largemouth bass, white bass, hybrid striper, crappie, walleye, and sunfish. The project lands are licensed to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) for wildlife management purposes and are open to the public as a public hunting area. The recreation areas around the lake include boat launching ramps, campgrounds, sanitary facilities, picnic tables, and shelters. Boating and skiing enthusiasts will enjoy the large areas of open water and the scenic shoreline. Visitors can also enjoy the scenic areas and wildlife viewing from an automobile or by hiking the Walker Creek Trail or the Beaver Creek Trails.
