This campground is a great place to stay for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. It is located off the beaten path in North Central Oklahoma, but is only 15 minutes from Ponca City. The campground is part of the Corps of Engineers and offers 54 sites with level gravel surfaces, covered picnic tables, grills, fire rings, and plenty of trees for shade. There is a boat launch ramp and dock, a frisbee golf course, a playground, and large expanses of open space for kids and adults to play. The roads leading into the park are not in the best condition, but once inside the park, they are newly paved and well maintained. Restrooms and showers are immaculate and cleaned daily. The campground can get full on weekends, but during quieter times, there are only a handful of campers. The only downside is that there are a lot of spiders in the area, so be prepared for that. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the campground is a great place to stay for a peaceful and scenic outdoor experience.
