From The Campground

Kaw Lake is a beautiful recreational area located in north central Oklahoma, approximately 8 miles east of Ponca City, on the Arkansas River. The lake covers 17,000 surface acres and has 168 miles of shoreline at the normal elevation of 1010.00 feet above sea level. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as camping, boating, fishing, hiking, hunting, and swimming. The lake is also known for producing some of Oklahoma's largest catfish. Kaw Lake has nine public use areas and two lake access points, over 300 family campsites, and four group camping areas. There are ten boat launching ramps and two full-service marinas. The Eagle View Hiking Trail and the Five Fingers Equestrian Trail are popular among hikers and horseback riders. Kaw Lake is also home to a large population of wintering bald eagles, making it a popular winter attraction. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kaw Lake invites visitors to make safety a priority and obey the rules and regulations in place to protect the resources at Kaw Lake.
