What others are saying
Robbers Cave State Park is a great campground for those looking for a peaceful getaway. With three lakes, plenty of hiking trails, and spectacular views, this park has something for everyone. The sites are well maintained with level concrete pads, picnic tables, and fire pits. Be careful when reserving in Whispering Pines as some of the sites have picnic tables on the wrong side of the camper. The cave area is really cool with big rock formations to climb on and beautiful views from the top. There are also plenty of amenities such as a swimming pool, playground, snack bar, miniature golf course, paddle boats, and horseback riding. The park is also known for being the hideout of Jesse James and Belle Starr. Be aware that there is a lot of traffic and noise due to the close proximity to the facilities. Tree limbs close to the camping roads and in individual sites need trimming, especially Old Circle loop. Be sure to pay attention to the different trail descriptions as they can vary from easy to more difficult fairly quickly.
