GenieSummary

Barton Campground is a great place to stay for those who have the Oregon Special Access Pass, as Clackamas County offers free camping (with some limitations) to disabled veterans. It is conveniently located near Portland and surrounding cities, yet is still nestled away in beautiful rolling countryside. The campground is divided into two sections: Barton East and Barton West. Barton East is the newer and fancier part of the RV park, and is better suited for bigger rigs, with large and level sites. It is mostly asphalt, with some dry and dead grass, and no large trees. Barton West is an older campground, with grassy sites and more shade, and is mostly used by tent campers and smaller trailers. There are also trails around the park and plenty of walking if you head down to the other campground and day use area. There is a pond under construction in the East campground, and heavy trucks start at 7am. The showers are push button, running a decently long time, with plenty of hot water. The grass and roads are covered in goose droppings, so you need to watch your step. The park gates are locked at 10pm nightly.

From The Campground

Barton Park is a recreational gem located on the Clackamas River. This one of a kind park features camping, hiking, multiple day use and event amenities, and a variety of river recreation opportunities. Among our region's most popular park destinations.
