GenieSummary

Dairy Creek East L L Stub Stewart State Park is one of the newest campgrounds in Oregon, but its trees are still young, meaning the sites may not be very shaded. However, there are still many nice spots, especially the ones with trees that offer some shade. The campground is split into two loops; the upper loop is more open, while the lower loop is nestled in the trees. The campsites are quite large and level, making it ideal for newer campers. The park has many amenities, including playgrounds and hiking trails, and is perfect for families. It also has nice facilities, including washrooms and showers with lots of hot water. If you need supplies, Vernonia is a short drive away, where you can find a few stores and some fascinating history. On top of that, the campground is usually quiet and suitable for a relaxing stay. There are plenty of trails to explore, The Banks-Vernonia Trail is only about 1/3 mile from the campground, and perfect for runners or cyclists. Don’t forget to take your furry friend to the fenced dog area at the day use space. While cell phone coverage is decent around the area, OTA channels may not work. If you have Starlink, note that your usage may be hit or miss as the many trees can cause blockages. If you have a car, Hillsboro is about 30 min away, while downtown Portland is around 45 minutes by car. Overall, the Dairy Creek East L L Stub Stewart State Park is a great location for a fun camping experience, especially for those who enjoy outdoor activities.
