From The Campground

Smiling River Campground is located in Deschutes National Forest and offers 36 single campsites along the Metolius River. The campground is open from April 28, 2023, to October 15, 2023, and offers potable water and vault toilets. The campground is operated by Vista Recreation and is just one mile north of the Camp Sherman Store. The maximum site spur length is 50 feet. The water system will be turned on in May and turned off no later than September 30, 2023, or upon the campground closing, whichever is earlier to prevent potential damage from cold temperatures.
