What others are saying about this campground
Nestled in a hillside with a winding road surrounded by thick green trees, Ainsworth State Park in Cascade Locks, OR is an absolutely gorgeous camping destination. The park has a great pull-thru site with easy access right off Interstate 84, and the waterfalls are right up the road. Visitors can take advantage of the old gouge highway bike path nearby, which is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Showers and bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. Additionally, campers can enjoy the little trail between A and B loops to take a walk with their dog. The campground is mostly pull-throughs, and there are some FCFS sites available. However, some sites looked terribly unlevel and idiosyncratic. Although the cell service for ATT was non-existent, one night is sufficient if you are there only to see the waterfalls and historic route 30. The park offers power and water hookups, making it an ideal destination for RV campers who need to run AC or dump their tanks. While there were no camp hosts on duty, the rangers came through a few times to check on everyone, providing a great sense of security and community. Ainsworth State Park is a great choice for those looking to explore the Gorge and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
