What others are saying about this campground
Viento State Park is a quaint campground in the Columbia River Gorge, located near Cascade Locks and Hood River. The park has nice and shady camping spots, some of which offer 30 amp electric and water. There are free hot showers available, and the rangers and camp hosts are nice and helpful. The park is a short walk away from the beautiful Columbia River, making it an excellent spot for wind surfing or kite surfing. However, the park is located near a major freeway and active train tracks, which makes it loud and noisy. The freeway noise is constant and the train passes by frequently, which can be a deal breaker for some campers. Additionally, there is no sewer connection or dump station, and the restroom is not always clean. Although the park is almost always available, it might be a last resort for some campers due to the loud noise issue.
