What others are saying about this campground
This campground is a great option for those looking for a peaceful and private camping experience. It offers 5 free nights per month with disabled veteran benefits, as well as water and electric hookups. The sites are surrounded by trees and foliage, providing excellent privacy and lots of shade. There is no access to the beach from the park, but it is a short two block drive or walk away. The bathrooms are slightly better, although the pressure from so many campers is great and the cleanliness is spotty. There is no Wi-Fi but good cell phone coverage with major carriers, except for Verizon in the campground. The sites are big enough for any rig and are surrounded by trees, giving excellent privacy. The open group camping area at the top of the hill is great for satellite reception, but be aware that there is a strong storm one night and the wind really blows up there. The bathroom/showers in the group camping area are modern, spotless, large, and private. Unfortunately, you cant really see the ocean from any of the sites, but it is visible if you walk down to the day use area. The nearby town of Charleston is a great place to explore, and the campground is very close to gorgeous beaches and state parks.
