Mazama Campground in Crater Lake, OR is a beautiful and peaceful campground that offers a sense of privacy and quietness. The spot is surrounded by natural beauty, however, there are some areas where the campground is lacking. Despite the stunning surroundings, there are some issues with the management of the campground. During a visit, it was observed that the main gift shop and restaurant were closed on a holiday weekend, which seemed odd. In addition, although there was a fire ban in place, it was not enforced as several campers were seen having campfires and rangers never made a trip through the campground to police it. Moreover, though the campground was not more than 50% full, campers were told that they could not be relocated to a different site. Lastly, there are only three showers for the entire campground, which makes it very difficult, especially when one of the showers is out of order. Despite the issues, Mazama Campground offers a beautiful setting to enjoy nature and connect with the outdoors.
