Deschutes Campground in Culver, OR is a nicely kept, clean and well-maintained campground with lots of friendly rangers. The dog park is big and nice, and there are some great hikes that you can do right from the campground. While the water is a main draw, especially for jet ski and boat enthusiasts and families with children, RV campers without a tow car are unable to access it. In terms of amenities, there are water spigots throughout, although you may not be able to fill your tanks if you stay at the upper campground. However, the ranger was able to provide assistance in this regard when approached. Sites do vary in size, so if you are traveling with an RV, you may need to drive through the loop first before picking a site. The park is stunningly beautiful, with scenery at the bottom of a huge gorge on lake Billy Chinook. The sites are mostly level, there are paved roads and sites, excellent utilities and fantastic WeBoost signal coverage. Though roads and some back-ins may present a challenge as the campground is set on hilly terrain. The rangers patrol often and the hosts keep the restrooms and showers very clean. Overall, Deschutes Campground offers a great camping experience with beautiful surroundings and attentive staff.
