This campground is a hidden gem located on the east Cascade tree line along the Metolius river. It is a great spot for hikers, fly fisherman, and RVers alike. Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table, and the campground can support RVs, trailers, and tent camping. The Wizard Falls fish hatchery is less than 3 miles away and is worth the trip. The Metolius is great for fly fishing, and you can catch rainbows, bull trout, cut throat, and Kokanee. There is no water or dump station at this campground, so you will need to fill up on potable water at the Camp Sherman store. The campsites are spacious and some have direct access to the river. There is no cell service, but you can get a signal at the top of the hill. The campground is peaceful and perfect for a weekend getaway. There is a Black Butte trailhead nearby for a great day hike, as well as the Head of Metolius for a short stroll. The vault toilets are well maintained, but the campground water is not turned on yet.
