Elgin City Park is a great campground for RVers and campers looking for a peaceful and quiet stay. Located on the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway, the park is just 20 miles from I-84 and is surrounded by a peaceful and quiet country setting. The park is well-laid out and has plenty of space for big rigs, although those over 40 should drop the toad before entering the park. The park is adjacent to the Grande Ronde River, providing easy access for fishing and other water activities. The restrooms are individual with a toilet, sink, and shower, and are very clean. Wi-Fi is available, but is not secure and signal strength varies. There is no camp host on duty, but the manager is very friendly and helpful. Deer roam through the campsites in the morning and evenings, and the park is also close to town, with a couple of inexpensive diners, two nice small markets, and a Chevron station.
