Waxmyrtle Campground in Florence, OR is a fair knees campground that is far enough from Highway one oh one to avoid noise issues. The campground provides a good variety of clean and spacious sites, and every site is supplied with picnic tables and fire pits. Water stations and pit toilets are available to campers. The beach access point has ample trailer parking and the beach itself is spectacular. Additionally, the campground is an excellent place for gentle river kayaking or a nice hike. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, making it a great destination for tent camping. The only downsides mentioned by reviewers were the occasional distracting revving noises from nearby off-highway vehicles and the currently out-of-service water and bathroom facilities, which will hopefully soon be repaired.
