From The Campground
Lower Camp Creek Campground is a small and peaceful campground located in Malheur National Forest. It is nestled among ponderosa pines along a forest creek and is popular with hunters. The campground is just a short drive away from the beautiful Middle Fork of the John Day River and Arch Rock Trail #258, an ashflow tuff with a scenic arch and several small rockshelters eroded into the outcrop, allowing visitors a place to see fascinating geological features. The campground has six single sites, each with extended concrete tables, raised fire rings, and a concrete pad entrance to the bathroom. The campground is open year-round, but it is most popular during late summer through early winter for various hunting seasons.
