From The Campground
Yellowbottom Recreation Site is a small campground located in Oregon's Middle Santiam Wilderness. It offers campsites for tents or small trailers, a one-mile hiking trail, access to Quartzville Creek Wild and Scenic River, and a take-off point to explore nearby recreation trails. The campground is not recommended for large RVs or trailers due to the one-lane site road and tight turning radius. Visitors can enjoy a beautiful swimming hole and a one-mile trail that leads to old-growth trees. The landscape is characterized by old-growth and maturing forests, rock outcroppings, wildflowers, and vivid fall colors. Nearby attractions include multiple Forest Service trails into the Middle Santiam Wilderness, the Quartzville National Back Country Byway, and the serene Quartzville River, which is perfect for fishing, swimming, and gold panning. Standard fees apply and are non-refundable.
