From The Campground
Shady Cove Campground is a primitive camping site located within the Opal Creek Scenic Recreation Area. It offers visitors a chance to experience camping along the Little North Fork of the Santiam River. The campground is open year-round but access is dependent on road conditions and weather. Numerous trails within a short distance of the campground offer scenic mountain vistas, waterfalls, and hikes through majestic old-growth forests. Three Pools Day Use Site is also nearby. The campground has 13 sites that accommodate tents, autos, and limited small trailers. There are vault toilets and picnic tables available. The campground is medium-heavy usage and is not available for advance reservations. All sites are first come first serve.
