This USFS park is a great place for a camping getaway. With full hookups, 50/30/20 amp, and huge back in sites, this campground offers something for everyone. The tree canopy is so thick that it gets dark an hour before sunset, providing much needed shade during the summer months. The camp host is friendly and helpful, and the sites are well separated for privacy. Water in the park has a high mineral content, so be sure to flush before connecting. There is a nearby town of Sandy with all the necessary amenities, and the Pacific Crest Trail is a great spot for a long hike. The price of $15 with the Geezer card makes this campground an excellent value. The weather can be cold and wet, but the lack of bugs in May 2019 was a pleasant surprise.
