This campground is a great place for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. It is located near Portland and the Evergreen Aircraft and Space Museum, and is close to wine country and downtown Portland. The park has a variety of amenities, including a disc golf course, rental cabins and yurts, a day use area, river access, an interpretive center, and a pioneer garden. There are also plenty of trails for biking and hiking, and a two-mile bike path that ends at an old ice cream store. The Group RV Site is well-equipped with a large BBQ Pit, flush toilet restrooms (showers are in another loop), horseshoe pits, and a volleyball net. The B Loop has larger sites with full hook-ups, and tall hedges between sites providing lots of privacy. There is also a dump station and free showers with plenty of hot water. The park has suffered damage from the Portland ice storm in February 2021, but is still immaculate. On the weekends, the B Loop is usually full, so it is best to reserve a site in advance. Nearby attractions include a Mexican restaurant, a candy factory, and a farm stand with fresh organic produce.

Champoeg State Heritage Area is a year-round campground and day-use park located in Saint Paul, Oregon. The park offers river access at the boat dock, soft surface Townsite walking trail, and the eastern half of the paved biking trail that leads to the Butteville Store. Swimming is prohibited due to the strong current and unseen underwater hazards. The park has 550,000 day visits and 89,000 overnight visits annually. The park celebrates the 1843 vote during the annual Founders' Day.
