The town of Vernonia is nearby, but not walking distance, and offers a market, hardware store, and bars. This campground is great for those looking for a peaceful, family-friendly getaway.

Big Eddy Park is a scenic campground located along the banks of the Nehalem River in Columbia County, Oregon. The park offers 35 campsites and 14 full paved RV hookup sites, each with a picnic table and a fire ring. Amenities include hot showers, flush toilets, a small boat launch, an open grassy area for games and play, a playground for young children, horseshoe rings, and a pet area. The park is close to the Banks-Vernonia Linear State Park and Trail, the 23-mile CZ Trail, and the Jewell Elk Refuge. Visitors can enjoy fishing, catching crawdads, birding, canoeing, and stargazing.
